Peter DeHaan, PhD, often makes religious people squirm, but spiritual seekers cheer. He’s not trying to be provocative, but he seeks truth, even if it makes some people uncomfortable.

He yearns for Christians to push past the status quo and reconsider how they practice their faith in every area of their lives.

Peter DeHaan earned his PhD degree from Trinity College of the Bible and Theological Seminary, conferred on June 15, 2012, awarded “with high distinction,” endorsed by Canterbury Christ Church University, England. He also has an MBA and PhD in business administration from Kennedy-Western University.

A lifelong student of the Bible, Peter developed and wrote the 1,000-page website ABibleADay.com to encourage people to explore the Bible, the greatest book ever written.

His popular blog addresses biblical Christianity to confront status quo religion and live a life that matters.

Peter’s newsletter provides encouragement, insight, and updates. Each week he keeps the discussion going with multiple posts about God, the Bible, and church.

A Lifelong Passion for Writing

Peter DeHaan’s writing career spans four decades, having published hundreds of articles, authored four academic works, penned thousands of blog posts, appeared in three anthologies, and published over 50 books.

In 1983 Peter published his first article, titled “All About Pagers,” in the now defunct tech magazine Radio Electronics.

His second article, “Computers Track Down Intermodulation Interference,” appeared later that year in Mobile Radio Technology magazine as he labored through his college freshman writing class.

This would be his only formal writing course; he persevered and earned an A. Over time a passionate writer emerged.

Today most of Peter’s writing focuses on matters of biblical faith for Christian pilgrims, seekers, and the disenfranshised. Peter’s Haiku, “Why I Write” was a top-twenty winner for Imagine This! An ArtPrize Anthology.

His personal essay, “The Seven Transformations of Peter DeHaan,” is part of The Transformation Project anthology.

He also won an award with his piece, “How I Found Jesus.” And he has two short stories in Christmas Presence: “Best Christmas Ever” and “Our Future Hope.”

Publishing and More

Vocationally, Peter is president of Peter DeHaan Publishing, Inc., which he launched in 2001 to produce periodicals. He gives back to the creative community through his writing and publishing blog.

In 2017 he launched Rock Rooster Books to publish books for both the Christian and general markets.

Peter DeHaan’s prior work experience includes telecommunication consulting, multi-location call center management, mergers and acquisitions, software programming, high-tech help desk management, technical writing, and project management.

Peter also had brief stints as a television audio engineer, electronic music instrument technician, copy machine repairman, meat-processing plant lackey, and farm laborer.

These experiences shaped Peter into who he is today and provides many fond—and some not so fond—memories, as well as ample writing material. He now focuses on writing and publishing.

Peter DeHaan lives in beautiful Southwest Michigan with his bride of over four decades. They have two married children and five amazing grandchildren.

Peter is an avid podcast consumer and reader. A movie buff who enjoys nature walks, he celebrates both as sensory experiences that feed his inner muse.

His life mission is to change the world one word at a time, which he views as his ministry of words.
